MONTERREY, N.L. /// MEXICO – The National Chamber of Trucking (CANACAR) received three simulators Freightliner Trucks, which seeks to join efforts in the industry to further improve the professionally of transport operators.
With Executive of Daimler Commercial Vehicles and CANACAR present, the symbolic delivery of simulators was held on the first day of Expo Transport Suppliers 2016, held in Monterrey.
Rogelio Montemayor, a leader among carriers, conducted training using one of the simulators installed in the Daimler exposition. These devices test the skills of drivers and have a variety of different scenarios where one can be involved in real and adverse situations such as; rain, night, snow, panic braking and handling of liquid containers, among others. “This practice helps operators to have a better knowledge about the use of their vehicles and thereby promote economic savings and prevent road accidents.”
The simulator aims to create a space in which the user feels like it is a real cockpit. It has the same equipment as a truck: steering wheel, pedals, shifter, dashboard and indicators. The operator experiences the simulation through three screens projecting images, a sound system and motion seat that reacts to situations that occur in the virtual world.
Stefan Kürschner, President and CEO of Daimler Commercial Vehicles Mexico, said that this action is part of Daimlers commitment as a company for the professionalization of the sector, safety and savings in relation to good management of the vehicles purchased by employers.
